What is DocuLegis?
DocuLegis is a leading legal tech platform designed for regulatory analysis and knowledge management. It provides access to a vast library of legal and regulatory documents, offering standardized answers directly from regulatory sources or your own internal documents.
How does it provide answers?
When you ask a question, the AI analyzes the relevant documents within your selected library and uses natural language processing to provide a direct answer and highlight the specific source text, including the document and page numbers for easy reference.
What file types can I upload to my Workspace?
The current beta version supports the upload of PDF documents (up to 100MB per file). We are actively working on expanding support for other common file formats in the near future.
Regulatory & Libraries
What is the difference between the "Regulatory" and "KM" sections?
The "Regulatory" section provides access to public legal and regulatory documents. The "KM" section allows you to upload your own internal documents, create your own knowledge base where you can manage confidential documents and create a knowledge base tailored for your organization.
What are "Libraries"?
Libraries are collections of public regulatory documents. In the beta version, this includes libraries of "EU legislation" and "UK legislation". You can search across all questions in the documents contained in a library.
Can I upload my own documents to a public library?
No, public libraries are managed to contain public documents for all users to access. To work with your own documents, you should use a private Workspace in the KM Knowledge Management section.
Workspaces & Knowledge Management
What is a "Workspace"?
A Workspace is your private and secure environment within DocuLegis. Here, you can upload your own documents, organize them into folders, and create a customized knowledge base tailored to your organization's needs.
How do I add documents to my Workspace?
You can add documents by: Direct Upload - Drag and drop PDF files (up to 100MB each) directly into your Workspace. External Sources - The system provides links to external storage systems like Google Drive, SharePoint, OneDrive, and email inboxes.
Can I customize the AI in my Workspace?
Yes, you can edit the Workspace to define a "Default Prompt," which instructs the AI on how to behave when generating answers. You can also customize the AI's behavior for different "User Roles" within your Workspace.
What is the difference between "Chat" and "Query" mode?
Chat Mode allows you to have a conversation with your documents, asking follow-up questions and receiving contextually relevant responses. Query Mode provides direct answers to your questions using only the information found in your uploaded documents.
Is my Knowledge Management Workspace secure?
Yes, your KM Workspace is completely private and secure. The documents you upload are confidential to your Workspace and are not shared with other users or used to train the global AI model.
Accuracy & Features
How do I know the AI's answers are accurate?
For every answer the AI provides, it includes a "Sources" section with direct citations, referencing the exact document title and page number where the information was found. This transparency allows you to instantly verify the source of the information.
What should I do if I get an answer that isn't helpful?
We encourage you to provide feedback! Below each answer, you will find thumbs-up and thumbs-down icons. Using these helps our team refine the AI, making it more accurate and reliable for everyone.
Can I save or share the answers I receive?
Yes. Each answer generated by the AI comes with "Copy" and "Share" buttons, allowing you to easily use the information in your own documents or share it with colleagues.
